Cape Cod Life - Arts Annual"If only every school were as much fun as Sundae School in Dennisport!" Since 1976 owners Paul and Andrea Endres having been serving up homemade creamy confections in this former barn turned ice cream parlor on Lower County Road. Sundae School is a local landmark and no doubt has found it's way into the memories of many summertime visitors.

The decor fairly "screams" ice cream with antique tin advertising signs, posters, and ice cream paraphernalia, including antique scoops collected through the years. A vintage nickelodeon also adds to the old-fashioned, Victorian flavor. The focus of the parlor is the stunning marble counter purchased from a drugstore soda fountain in Milton that Paul frequented as a child.

Today Endres is on the other side of the counter working along side his own children, scooping up unique flavors like Bass River Mudd, Kahlua Chip, and Espresso Coffee Crunch, which are made on premises. For those watching their waistline this summer, Sundae School offers reduced-fat ice cream and low-fat and no-fat frozen yogurt; the Raspberry Chip yogurt is especially popular. Relax with a cone at one of the round marble tables inside or take plenty of napkins and sit under the trees at the picnic benches outside. Sundae School offers prepackaged ice cream to take home.

Since 1984 there has been a second Sundae School on Main Street in East Orleans. Both winners in the year's Cape Cod Life "Best of the Cape and Islands" Readers' Poll. Sundae School is open from mid-April to the end of September, and during the height of the season it is open from 11am to 11pm."
